13-15 April 2018 Applications accepted from autumn 2017 The event will be held at the Academy and the Primary and Secondary Music School

Main points:

1. International Saxophone Competition saxophone students from 21 years of age (inclusive)
1st category: students born in 2003 (inclusive) and after (freely selected repertoire up to 8 minutes long)
2nd category: students born in the years 2000-2002 inclusive (freely selected repertoire up to 12 minutes long)
3rd category: students born in the years 1997-1999 inclusive (two-stage auditions, Stage I: Johann Sebastian Bach, Partita in A Minorr (BVW 1013),  movement I-Allemande and movement II-Corrente. Both movements should be played from memory without repetitions on any type of saxophone from any sheet music edition. Stage II: freely selected repertoire with accompaniment, up to 20 minutes long).
The Organisers provide accompanists and rooms for the rehearsals on the day of the audition. The Competition is judged by a Jury of international experts.

The prize pool amounts to 3000 euros
Main prize: Alto saxophone

The Competition winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) of all categories will perform during the Winner’s Concert at the Concert Hall of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocałw on 15 April 2018 at 4 p.m.

2. The “Saxophone Orchestra” project for saxophone students and teachers. Passive participants may also play in the orchestra. The orchestra with perform with the Competition winners during the Winners’ Concert on 15 April 2017.

3. Saxophone workshop – each active participant who does not take part in the Competition will have a lesson with the professor conducting the workshops.
The workshops will be conducted by the world-famous saxophonist Johan van der Linden who has confirmed his participation in the European Saxophone Forum 2018!

4. Jazz workshops  - for classical and jazz saxophonists 

5. Lectures, multimedia presentations,
3 concerts
- Inaugural Concert – 13 April 2017 at 7 p.m.;
- Teachers’ Concert – 14 April 2018 at 7 p.m.;
- Winners’ Concert – 15 April 2018 at 4 p.m.)   
free admission to all events 

Active or passive participation option
Registration fee for participants of the European Saxophone Forum 2018 amounts to:
30 euros – active participants (the number of participants is limited, the participants will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis)
10 euros – passive participants
