graduated in Instrumental (Voice) pedagogy and concert studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Vienna with Oto Vrhovnik. Important for his further artistic development was the cooperation with renowned saxophone players such as E. Rousseau, J.M. Londeix, D. Deffayet, F. Hemke, S. Rascher, Leo van Ooström and Iwan Roth.
His work is characterized by cooperation with many Austrian orchestras and ensembles, including the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Niederösterreichisches Tonkünstler Orchester, Ensemble „Die Reihe”, Ensemble „counterpoint”, sound Wien, Ensemble Pro Brass and the Austrian Kammersinfoniker.
Peter Rohrsdorfer is member of the Ensemble Wiener Collage (which has its emphasis on contemporary music) and the saxophone quartet 4saxess.
Since 1994 Peter Rohrsdorfer leads a class for classical saxophone at the Anton-Bruckner- Privatuniversität Linz. He also teaches at the music school in Ried im Innkreis.
